Well-being: the next revolution in children’s services? /  JORDAN, Bill
In: Journal of Children’s Services
1(1), April 2006 41-50
This article presents some of the issues for measuring children’s well-being and for comparing measurements between countries. It also considers the implications for children’s services of an approach that re-values the relational elements in human service work, and argues that coherence between services is as important as the outcomes of interventions with individuals and families.

A missed opportunity, Ofcom consultation does not go far enough /  PHILLIPS, Claire. -
In: Childright, 227 June 2006 6-8
Childhood obesity carries the potential for serious health problems and may also impact on a child’s emotional wellbeing. This article argues that Ofcom ‘s consultation on the issue of advertising food to children, which is high in fat, sugar and salt, does not go far enough. Of particular concern is the omission of the question of whether or not there should be a ban on advertising such foods before the 9pm watershed.
